Mr.Kaleb Martin, former assistant principal at Evans Middle School, has joined the LHS family of administrators.
Mr Martin is coming from multiple years of experience as an administrator on the middle school level. He began at O.L Slaton as an SEL Specialist and his final two years there he spent as an assistant principal. He then moved to Evans Middle School, fulfilling the same role. “So this is, here at Lubbock High, my fourth year as an administrator.” Mr Martin said, “I got a good connection to Lubbock High […] I considered coming here for the ROTC program […]”
The culture of Lubbock High School is vast and diverse. As a result of spending multiple years at the middle school level of administration and the changes made for high school students, Mr Martin sees this as a “learning year” and is excited to “learn the ins and outs, get to know the people, the family” and considering his time with O.L Slaton, he is going to fit in perfectly. “When Mr Young asked if I would come for an interview I never thought that I would give high school a chance, but I really miss being around a really good melting pot of just different demographics, challenges and different backgrounds and it’s really cool to see people who are so different from one another interact with each other. […] I want to immerse myself with the culture of Lubbock High.” Mr Martin said.
Sitting down with Mr Martin was both interesting and exciting. His energy is that of someone willing to help no matter the cost. Lubbock High, and the rest of Texas schools, face challenges everyday. All in all, Texas administrators and Lubbock High School, are proud to have such willing and able people working for them. Mr Martin is definitely here for the student body through and through.
