Our Lubbock High Westerners went up against the Abilene Wylie Bulldogs on October 20th, 2023. The Westerners underwent a hard game that had them working hard every quarter but unfortunately lost 52-7. 

One of the varsity football players, Bryson Garza, says “It was a tough game, but we were in it from start to finish.” After being asked what the team could’ve done better, Bryson states, “We have some cleaning up to do in many areas.”

The Westerners got their first score during the 3rd quarter, still holding onto hope. The Varsity Coach, Juan Rodriguez wanted his players to come together as a family and beat Abilene. They persevered through a tough game and still showed commitment to playing. Even though our Westerners lost, their hearts were still in it!
