Our team displayed our school’s motto, Sportsmanship than Victory, excellently this season. We are so incredibly proud of our football team and all they have accomplished this season. The Westerners, the football team at Lubbock High School, have a rich history and a strong work ethic. Even though Texas football can be difficult because of the dominance of big schools, the Westerners have gone through many highs and lows but have remained strong and have united behind their team to produce seasons that will never be forgotten. The team started off the season with three wins, which in comparison to past years is exceedingly good. This was the first time the team had won three games in recent years.
Senior, Charles Hogan, said this season had “a lot more camaraderie than there has been in past years.” Our team displayed true resilience and had unwavering determination throughout the season. They showed us that true victory lies beyond the scoreboard.
Senior, Xavien Ramirez said that they had a “different approach this season, and it wasn’t like all the past seasons.”
The Westerner football team hopes to use what they have learned about team chemistry, resilience, and individual growth this year to improve in the future. We are so proud of all our football boys, don’t forget to R4TB!
