We had picture day the week of September 16th and all the Westerners looked so great in their pictures.
The Lubbock High yearbook staff was in charge of running pictures for both the underclassmen and the Senior photos.
The process for the Underclassmen was quite simple: Students would come down to the auditorium, get into a long line, staff members would remind students to take off their badges and any kind of headphones, and move to the right side of the stage.
The students would then be separated into three lines per each photo setup area, wait in a smaller line, follow the photographer’s instructions, and take their photo.
The students would then move down the left side of the stage and wait for the rest of the class until everyone had taken their picture and then return to class with their teacher.
For the Senior Side of Picture Day, English classes met in the Library and students were then lined up and asked their height. They were instructed to give their card to a staff member, which checked them off on a computer to ensure that they had their picture taken. Seniors were then directed to 1 of 3 lines, but one was specific to students who wanted an undershirt displayed under their gown. The students waited in line until their picture was taken. After students took their picture, they were instructed to sit back down with their class until the period was over. If students would like to retake their picture, the retake day is October 8th!
