On August 13, all the Lubbock High Seniors came together to watch the sunrise on their last first day of high school. A mixture of happiness, bittersweet tenderness, and anxiety was floating around throughout all of the students. Friends came together to spend their first moments of senior year.
“It was super nice getting to reconnect and see everyone since summer. [Senior sunrise] was fun getting to see the whole class come together for our last first day of school.” Saira Ramos said.
Lubbock High Seniors spent the morning walking around chatting with their fellow classmates. As students took photos, they looked back on their journey throughout all twelve years of school. Some people never thought they would make it to their senior year. Now here they are in their last year of high school making the most of it.
Felicity Tarango said, “I plan on doing everything I can in school, all the activities and going to all of the football games.” to make the most of her senior year.
As Senior Sunrise came to an end everyone soaked up the last minutes of their first Senior activity. Everyone started to head to their first class of Senior year, awaiting all the adventure that is ahead of them
“My Senior Sunrise was wonderful. I got to hang out with a lot of my friends I didn’t get to see over the summer and one of the things I’m most excited for is to be able to strengthen those bonds I formed in the past years and ultimately be able to carry those throughout my life, “Aiden White said.
To all of the Lubbock High Class of 2026 Seniors have an amazing year and don’t forget to do everything you can and we’ll see you on that stage.
