The theater season has been finalized and auditions are underway for these upcoming productions in LHS Theater. The school wide shows include two straight plays and one musical. The fall show is called Defying Gravity, following the real story of the 1986 Challenger tragedy. The fall musical is Tuck Everlasting following the story of a young teenage girl struggling with a choice of immortality. The One Act play for the spring, and the Theatre Showcase in the fall are still being decided. The advanced freshmen class -called Goldfish Productions- will be putting on four separate shows during this school year. The last three are to be determined, but the first show is a straight play called Snow Angel. It follows the story of sixteen teenagers during a blizzard where circumstances force them to re-evaluate their relationships. The varsity theater class is also doing a production of a gender-bent Lord of Flies this fall. You can see more information on these upcoming shows around the school on posters once the performance dates draw nearer. “We are really excited for this upcoming year and all the productions we will have an opportunity to put on. We are creating so many opportunities for kids to show off their skills in performing and teaching!”
